Demonstration exposure. Ambient pressure in kPa is plotted against time in min, from 0 to 90 min. Exposure rises from 101.3 kPa to a maximum of 501.3 kPa at 3 min, then falls to 101.3 kPa. Linear-tolerance ceiling rises from 51.1 kPa to a maximum of 298.4 kPa at 27 min, then falls to 76.7 kPa. Exponential ceiling rises from 44.3 kPa to a maximum of 127.3 kPa at 27 min, then falls to 70.1 kPa. The highest value on the chart is 501.3 kPa, on Exposure, at 3 min. 91 samples per series at 1 min intervals. Generated from the OpenDeco research stack for interface demonstration. This is not a benchmark result. Every parameter value behind these ceilings is synthetic, so no line here describes a real exposure, a real diver or released model performance. The exposure is the synthetic profile opendeco_homepage_demonstration_exposure_v1. It descends to 501 kilopascals, holds there for 24 minutes, ascends to an intermediate hold and returns to surface pressure. Linear-tolerance ceiling is the ascent ceiling reported by OpenDeco linear-tolerance compartment, adapter opendeco_linear_tolerance_compartment, on configuration linear_tolerance_compartment_synthetic_v1. Exponential ceiling is the ascent ceiling reported by OpenDeco reference exponential compartment, adapter opendeco_reference_exponential_compartment, on configuration reference_exponential_compartment_fixture_v1. The series is regenerated from the model adapters by running uv run python apps/public-web/scripts/generate_hero_demonstration.py && pnpm exec prettier --write apps/public-web/src/lib/home/demonstration.generated.ts.

Areas of work

OpenDeco brings together decompression evidence that is usually separated by field. Each domain retains its own populations, operating conditions, procedures and evidence limits.

  • Scuba

Recreational and technical scuba, including no-stop diving, staged decompression, mixed gas, repetitive exposure and dive-computer data.

    Scuba
  • Commercial

Surface-supplied, bell, saturation and other occupational diving procedures and exposure data.

    Commercial
  • Defense

Public military and naval decompression tables, models, trials and reports.

    Defense
  • Aerospace

Hypobaric decompression, altitude exposure, prebreathe and pressure transitions relevant to aviation and spaceflight.

  • Hyperbaric

Chamber, caisson, tunnelling and other compressed-gas or pressure exposures outside ordinary diving categories.

Global Decompression Benchmark

The benchmark evaluates exact model implementations, procedures and configurations against versioned historical exposure and outcome data. Results retain the model identity, dataset lineage, calibration relationship, uncertainty and implementation used to produce them.

The first benchmark release is in preparation. Model, dataset and method records remain available while implementation verification and protocol work are completed.

Research

OpenDeco research includes papers, analyses, technical reports and methods work. Released outputs link to the underlying sources, code, data and version history where rights allow.

OpenDeco has published nothing yet. No paper, no dataset release, no benchmark result. The dataset records, model records and methods a first output will cite are already public.

Data

Dataset records describe source, population, exposure, outcome definition, access conditions, provenance and known relationships to model development. OpenDeco can catalogue a dataset even when the underlying data cannot be redistributed.

Models and software

The model registry records exact versions, implementations and configurations. OpenDeco software connects those records to reproducible benchmark runs and released analyses.
